Nutrition in Recovery is dedicated to the promotion of both physical and nutritional wellness as primary components of addiction recovery. By incorporating a highly specialized Registered Dietitian Nutritionist as a member of the treatment team, Nutrition in Recovery aims to bridge the gap between nutrition and addiction recovery. Through informing and encouraging behavior change with respect to food, Nutrition in Recovery will help contribute to positive long-term recovery outcomes.
About Nutrition in Recovery Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Kristie Moore MS RDN CEDRD
Kristie Moore MS RDN CEDRD specializes in treating eating disorders and is dedicated to helping her clients succeed by using an intuitive eating and mindfulness approach to nutrition counseling and education. Kristie works directly with clients to create an individualized treatment plan that will empower them with confidence and knowledge so that they can reach their personal nutrition goals.
To increase her level of expertise in the eating disorder field, Kristie became a Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian (CEDRD) through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP). Kristie also works as the primary dietitian at many addiction treatment centers throughout the greater Los Angeles area where she provides group education, nutrition counseling, and culinary support.
Kristie earned her Bachelors of Science in Nutritional Science from California State University, Los Angeles. She completed her dietetic internship at California State University, Long Beach where she also earned her Master of Science degree in Nutritional Science. For her Master’s thesis, Kristie created a hands-on nutrition and culinary intervention to promote healthy eating, cooking, and lifestyle skills for individuals in substance abuse treatment. Kristie is a certified yoga instructor (Ryt – 200) with Yoga Alliance and believes that mindful movement can aide in the healing process.
Kristie is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics; Sports, Cardiovascular, and Wellness Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group (SCAN); Behavioral Health Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group (BHN); International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP); and the International Federation of Eating Disorder Dietitians (IFEDD).
